Hollis Mead Dairy is an organic Pasture for Life certified dairy based in west Dorset producing high-quality milk and dairy produce whilst maintaining exceptional standards of animal welfare, and fighting for the proliferation of nature and biodiversity. Our cows are purely grass fed which, which means despite getting a much lower yield, our cows live up to 3 times longer than an industrial dairy cow and the milk has far higher concentrations of all the good stuff that milk has to offer – specifically vitamin E, omega 3, and CLA. 

Our approach to farming has gained a fair amount of recognition such as being a finalist in the BBC Food and Farming Awards (2021) and receiving Special recognition from Compassion in World Farming (2021). While we received across the board commendation for our products at the Guild of Fine food’s Great Taste Awards it was our butter which really stood out – receiving 3 gold stars an accolade given to less than 100 products each year out of over 14,000 entrants.

We produce our kefir in partnership with celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall. Hugh is a huge champion of gut health, and worked closely with us to produce three flavours of kefir as well as a natural all of which boats 28 different live cultures – which is one of the most of any kefir on the market.
