Seasonal Summer Fruit

One of the simplest and most delicious puddings that we enjoy in summer is seasonal summer fruits and red berries.  For this blog, we used the red fruits we bought during our visit to Alençon market in Normandy and cherries and plums from the garden of our host.  Cream came from Alençon market as well.
Ingredients
  • Mix of seasonal summer fruits and red berries – strawberries, raspberries, cherries, plums, blueberries.
  • 2-3 tsp caster sugar
  • Chopped mint (optional)
Method
  • Wash and hull the strawberries. If super large, cut in half.  Wash and stone the cherries and plums. Wash the raspberries.
  • Throw them all into a bowl or mix the fruits of the same colour together and serve on different plates.
  • Sprinkle with the caster sugar and leave for 30 minutes to enhance the already glorious flavours.
  • If you are serving just strawberries, try mixing in a little freshly chopped mint for a super summer touch.
  • Serve just as they are or with some farm cream.
