Visit: George’s Garden

As with discovering many local independents, I came across George’s Garden by pure luck. I was on my to the Shepton Mallet Giant Flee Market (my absolute favourite!!) and passed their roadside sign.  On the way home, I stopped by.

George’s is a family-run farm shop and plant seller that was started on the farm during the Covid lockdowns when George’s family realised they could help the local community by selling local and from the farm.  Initially, they started in one of their spare sheds, but now, they have dedicated one of their airy barns to the shop.

This is an unpretentious, rustic farm shop selling a variety of fresh fruit and veg as well as locally made products. When in season you can buy the most delicious Cheddar strawberries sourced from another family farm in Cheddar. Their produce is very fairly priced and affordable and best eaten on the day of buying.  In the spirit of supporting the community, over 60’s can benefit from a discount card for 10% off!

I first discovered George’s in June and have visited several times since then.  I would recommend visiting if you are in the area.  One of my favourite products is their eggs, complete with handwritten dates on them!
