Winter Tarn Dairy
Winter Tarn Dairy was founded in 2009 by husband and wife Jeremy and Tricia Jackson. They moved to Cumbria to start a dairy farm with the aim of making a better price for the milk they produced.
The business really started when they attended their first Saturday farmers’ market, selling cheese they produced in collaboration with local farmers. They were popular and quickly expanded their range to include their award-winning artisan butter.
Winter Tarn Dairy’s butter is made in small batches to ensure the highest quality possible only using cream from grass-fed cows. This not only plays into the quality of the butter but it is much more sustainable too which is very important to Winter Tarn.
Along with their artisan butter, Winter Tarn sells various cheeses from other artisan and independent producers, including the Hampshire Cheese Co’s Tunworth and White Lake Cheese’s Tor.
