London: Miel Bakery

Miel Bakery is a small independently owned, French-inspired bakery selling fresh pastries, sourdough breads and cakes including the classic croissant, pain au chocolat, and cinnamon buns (but they sell many more). Everything is baked on-site and when I visited, the cinnamon buns came warm out of the oven.

Leaving Warren Street tube station and walking 2 minutes down Warren Street itself,  Miel Bakery is found on the right. With its dusky blue front, tables outside and baked goods displayed in the window it is a very tempting and welcoming sight. When I arrived there was a small queue. It was about 14:00 so I guess it was for a late lunch.

As always, I bought a cinnamon bun, to continue the hunt for my favourite! Theirs are quite large, quite brioche-y in texture, topped with a slightly sticky glaze, and had a good ratio between cinnamon and bun. It was absolutely delicious, and definitely near the top of my list! I also bought one of their croissants, which was not too big, not too buttery, perfectly light, and full of flavour.
I very much look forward to my next visit, to try some of Miel Bakery’s other bakes and breads….  so stay tuned for part 2 (and maybe even a part 3)!!
